The search tab is used to search for information and to present the results.
A new search is created by typing a keyword or keywords separated by white space
into text field
and started by pressing
button
.
There are several options available to specialize a search (has to be done
before starting a search):
, the result list
will only hold items where the words in
the query don't merely appear as part of other words. This example illustrates:
By searching for "The who" with the box checked, the file "The
Who.gif" could be included, but the file "The whole world.jpg"
would not be included. With the box unchecked, both files could be returned.
, separate phrases
may be included within quotation marks in the query. For the query '"Aberer,
Hauswirth, Schmidt" "P-Grid"', only files in which the two
phrases were included exactly as written would be returned. If the box is
checked and there are no quotation marks, the entire input is considered as
a phrase.
,
the result list
will only contain files
of this size or larger.
, the result
list
will only hold information at hosts
with this minimum speed.By default all found information for a query are presented in the result list
. To present only the result set matching
all restrictions the box
to filter results
has to be checked.
Search results are presented via result list
.
A separate result tab
is created for each
started search. Searches can be paused and stopped, and restarted afterwards
by a popup menu of a result tab. Searches are at first in an initial state before
they are processed (indicated by a transparent state circle). A processed search
is indicated by a green state circle in the result tab and the results are presented
automatically. A result tab with a red state circle indicates a finished search
and no more results are expected. Search tabs can also be closed by the popup
menu of a result tab.
The result list
provides a popup menu to
download information and to clear the list. Information can be downloaded by
selecting the desired results and select download in the popup menu.
